Jan Theuninck (Belgium)

Jan Theuninck from Zonnebeke is a Belgian painter and poet. His abstract paintings are influenced by Juan Miró and the themes that he often research are war (Mauthausen 186, Depleted Uranium, Zyklon B, Flanders Fields…), peace (Pool of Peace, Compassion…) and politics (Global Conscience, Utopia, Diplomacy, Migration…).  Jan sent us the postcard of his acrylic painting “Hill 60” . On the back is written his poem:

Hill 60

poppies blood

on the green grass

on the hills of mud

away they pass
