Miroslav Batan Blagojević [Serbia]

Miroslav Batan Blagojević is a Serbian artist and costume designer who lives and works in Belgrade. He worked on numerous theatre productions in Serbia and was awarded for his work both nationally and internationally. His art is often inspired by Serbian tradition, history and mythology. This time he sent us his mixed media drawing in pencil, tempera and Indian ink titled “Serbian Legend” from the book “After ninety years: The Story of Serbian Vampire Sava Savanović” by renown Serbian novelist Milovan Glišić.

Miroslav Batan Blagojević is a Serbian artist whose mail art shows a huge talent and skill. His truly unique pen drawings are always on the thin line between a fantasy and theatre, his drawn figures seem like will disappear in smoke.

His self-portrait is titled “Red Look” (“Crveni pogled”).

Miroslav Batan-Blagojević is a Serbian artist who lives and works in Belgrade. Apart from his active mail art engagement, Miroslav is a painter, graphic artist and costume designer. His costumes have been a part of many theatrical productions, and he participated in over 350 exhibitions worldwide.

Miroslav’s intricate ball pen drawings of fantastic portraits, mythological creatures, and scenes, are coming from the essence of his artistic imagination. Gentle, yet bold. Traditional, yet contemporary. Miroslav’s drawings are a tempest on the paper.

Miroslav sent us his drawing “Aphasia” (Aphasia is an inability to comprehend and formulate language because of damage to specific brain regions). Check also his 2015 mail art, posted for our exhibition.

Miroslav – Batan Blagojević is Serbian artists who works in paintings, graphics and stage costume design. He worked in various theatres and he exhibited his art in over 350 exhibitions in Serbia and abroad. Miroslav has sent an intricate drawing titled ‘Kaliban’ (‘Caliban’) inspired by a subhuman monster from Shakespeare’s play ‘The Tempest’.
